Accessibility at AloMatches

Last updated: September 20, 2025

We’re committed to an inclusive experience. Our goal is to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA across key user journeys and content types.

Statement of Commitment

AloMatches strives to provide a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We align our work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

Accessibility Features

  • Text alternatives: meaningful alt text on informative images.
  • Captions & transcripts: when we publish multimedia, we aim to provide captions or transcripts.
  • Keyboard access: all interactive components are operable via keyboard with visible focus.
  • Landmarks & ARIA: <header>, <nav>, <main>, <footer>, roles and labels for assistive tech.
  • Responsive design: supports zoom and reflow without content loss.
  • Language support: pages declare lang, and we’re expanding an EN/AR toggle.
  • Skip link: “Skip to main content” is available at the top of each page.
  • Logical tab order and focus indicators on interactive elements.
  • Search: the site search can be focused via keyboard and used without a mouse.
  • Menus & dialogs: open/close using keyboard with proper focus management.

Images, Video & Alternatives

  • Functional images include descriptive alt text; decorative images use empty alt.
  • Where third-party embeds (e.g., official highlights) are used, we provide context and titles.
  • We avoid autoplay with sound and excessive animation.

Color, Contrast & Motion

  • We target contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.2 AA for text and UI components.
  • We honor user preferences like prefers-reduced-motion and prefers-color-scheme.
  • Information isn’t conveyed by color alone; we add text, icons, or patterns.

Structure & Semantics

  • Pages use a logical heading order (one H1 per page, then H2/H3).
  • Forms have explicit labels, helpful errors, and accessible descriptions.
  • Tables include headers and summaries when used for data (not for layout).

Compatibility & Supported Tech

We aim to work with current versions of major browsers and assistive technologies (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver). We test on desktop and mobile with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers.

Testing & Continuous Improvement

  • Automated checks (e.g., Lighthouse/axe) and manual reviews for critical flows.
  • Design tokens for color/spacing/typography to consistently meet contrast and size targets.
  • Regressions are tracked and prioritized based on user impact.

Advertising & User Experience

  • AdSense-friendly: ads never block content or critical actions and are clearly distinguished from editorial content.
  • No deceptive patterns: no misleading labels, forced clicks, or interstitials that hinder access.
  • Consent: if a consent tool is active, your choices apply to measurement/ads. See our Cookie Policy.

Known Limitations & Roadmap

  • Legacy blog posts may still need improved alt text or heading refinements; we’re updating them iteratively.
  • Some third-party widgets have fixed UX. We provide labels, titles, or alternatives where possible.
  • ARIA live regions are being expanded on match status updates for screen readers.
