Editorial Guidelines & Methodology

Last updated: September 20, 2025

This page explains how AloMatches selects topics, sources, and data; how we fact-check, update, and correct articles; our approach to ads and affiliate links; and how we use AI tools responsibly.

Editorial Scope

We publish informational football content: fixture pages, match hubs, curated highlight embeds, guides and FAQs, and selective news roundups. Our goal is to help supporters find the right, official information quickly—without hosting or promoting pirated content.

  • Match hubs: date/time, status, basic context, and links or embeds from authorized providers where available.
  • Highlights: official or authorized third-party widgets only (platform T&Cs apply).
  • Guides/FAQs: practical tips (platform access, parental controls, safety online).
  • Roundups: concise summaries linking to original reporting.

Sourcing & Attribution

We prioritize primary sources (official competition organizers, clubs, broadcasters) and trusted data providers. When we cite reporting or use assets, we attribute and link where permissible.

Source Criteria

  • Official statements, regulations, and match notes outrank social rumors.
  • Reputable data vendors with documented methodologies.
  • Recognized publishers with editorial oversight.

Linking & Rights

  • We avoid deep-linking that violates terms. Logos inside widgets remain their owners’ property.
  • Outbound links may carry rel="nofollow"/sponsored/ugc as appropriate.
  • For takedowns, see our DMCA page.

Fact-Checking Workflow

  1. Pre-publish checks: verify date/time/venue/timezone; confirm opponent names and competition round; validate any embed source and license/terms.
  2. Secondary confirmation: cross-check key facts with at least one independent reputable source when feasible.
  3. Attribution: add citations or outbound links for claims beyond common knowledge.
  4. Final review: accessibility (alt text/contrast), performance (Core Web Vitals, image sizes), and metadata (title/description/canonical).

Time-sensitive information (kickoff changes, postponements) is re-checked near publication and periodically thereafter. If automation updates data, a human review is scheduled for significant changes.

Updates & Corrections

  • Minor updates: non-substantive edits (grammar, layout) may be made without a note.
  • Substantive corrections: clearly indicated with an Update line including date/time UTC and what changed.
  • Timestamps: pages display a “Last updated” date; live pages may include inline status labels.

To report an error, please use the Contact form with the page URL, the inaccurate passage, and a suggested correction.

Independence & Conflicts

Editorial decisions are independent. Team members must disclose material conflicts (employment, paid consulting, equity, close relationships) relevant to coverage and recuse themselves when needed.

Advertising & Sponsorship

Ads: We may display advertising to keep the site free. Ad serving and measurement may use cookies or similar technologies (see Privacy Policy).

  • Separation: Ads and editorial are strictly separated. Advertisers do not control our content.
  • Labels: Any sponsored material, if ever present, is clearly labeled.
  • Affiliate links: We may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects our coverage.

AI-Assistance Disclosure

We may use AI tools to summarize source material, generate first drafts, or normalize structured data. Every AI-assisted output is reviewed by a human editor for accuracy, context, tone, and compliance. We do not knowingly publish fully automated, unreviewed content.

  • Grounding: AI prompts include citations and constraints; editors verify claims and remove hallucinations.
  • Safety: We avoid generating disallowed or infringing content and respect platform policies.

User Contributions (UGC)

If we accept comments or submissions, we moderate for civility, legality, and relevance. UGC links may carry rel="ugc nofollow". We reserve the right to remove content that violates our rules.

Accessibility & Style

  • Semantic HTML with proper landmarks and keyboard navigation.
  • Alt text for meaningful images and transcripts/close captions where feasible.
  • Clear, inclusive language; avoid jargon where possible.

Privacy, Data & Cookies

We follow a privacy-aware approach. For analytics, ads, and cookie controls, see our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If a consent manager is present, your choices take effect across embeds where supported.
